Asus Launches Zenbook 17 Fold OLED Laptop Price, Availability, And Full Details

The Zenbook 17 Fold OLED laptop, which Asus revealed today in advance of IFA 2022, will be available worldwide in the fourth quarter of 2022 at a starting price of $3,499. (roughly Rs 2,78,308). As the name says, this is a foldable laptop with an OLED screen.

That is a remarkable achievement, but Asus didn’t stop there. The Zenbook 17 Fold OLED is also very potent on the inside, making it genuinely one-of-its-kind when writing. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 can be compared to the Samsung Galaxy X with wilder features.

The Zenbook 17 Fold OLED sports a 4:3 17.3-inch 2.5K touchscreen OLED display that folds in the middle to give you two 3:2 12.5-inch 1920 by 1280 panels. The 180-degree hinge plays a crucial role in making this happen.

According to Asus, it can survive more than 30,000 opening and closing cycles without breaking. Despite its folding shenanigans, the laptop is “smaller than a sheet of photocopier paper” when folded, it claims, letting you smoothly shift between several usage modes, including the complete desktop, laptop, tablet, and reader. The whole thing weighs only 1.5 kg.

Using Asus’s ScreenXpert 3 and Mode Switcher programs, which were developed specifically for this convertible laptop, you may divide the display into different windows and manage their contents.

Asus has also built a bespoke ErgoSense Bluetooth keyboard with a “desktop-grade 19.05 mm key pitch and a lengthy 1.4 mm travel on the dished mechanical keys”.

Under the hood, you get a 12th Gen Intel Core i7-1250U processor paired with Intel Iris Xe graphics, 16GB of RAM, and 1 TB of PCIe SSD. This laptop is powerful and versatile, with a 75 Wh battery and two USB-C Thunderbolt 4 connections.

Rounding off the box is a quad-speaker Harman Kardon-certified Dolby Atmos sound system, 5 MP front camera, IR-based user detection, and Intel Evo certification.
