UFC 223: Nurmagomedov v Iaquinta

Zabit Magomedsharipov is one of the growing prospects of the stacked Featherweight division. Today he is at # 4 and is 6-0 in the UFC, not a tasty two-year losing streak.

His last win was a spectacular win over Calvin Kattar and before that he defeated an experienced veteran Jeremy Stephens. The Russian has grown, but has yet to have a five-year fight in the UFC or in his entire career in MMA, for that matter.

One of the biggest criticisms he received in the last two years was for his heart. Training under Mark Henry, Zabit's abilities have improved significantly, but there has been a marked drop in his endurance levels through the fight.

While this is not uncommon, the fact that he is underweight and suffering from low cardio has, in the eyes of many, shut him up against a potential opponent such as Max Holloway, who is basically a cardio and king of tumors.

Zabit has heard the critics and took to Instagram to shoot back, defending his fight as safe:

"Many people criticize my stamina without thinking about how much energy a non-standard job can do in a fight. I always try to please my fans, but of course we will tighten functionality anyway. Fun in battle or just a risk-free victory? what would you prefer? "

Whether he defends it or not, the fact of the matter is that if a clash with Max Holloway is unavoidable, then the Russian must get the cardio to drastically improve. When faced with the leading Featherweights, the production and speed of punches can overwhelm and derail the advertising train that he has created in recent years.
