Recently, one more suicide case was reported in Kota, Rajasthan. This time the deceased was a 16-year-old girl who was preparing for NEET. The deceased was identified as Richa Sinha. According to the reports, NEET aspirant Richa Sinha was found dead in her hostel room. Parents have been worried for their children who are preparing for competitive exams. A widespread discussion has sparked over the mental health of students in Kota. 16-year-old Student Died By Suicide In Kota
The 16-year-old girl who was recently found dead in her hostel room was identified as Richa Sinha. Reportedly, Richa Sinha hanged herself to kill herself. She was discovered hanged in her hostel room on Tuesday night at about 10:30 pm. The 16-year-old girl was taken to a private hospital but she could not be revived. It was an apparent suicide death, therefore, police are investigating this case as a suicide. Assistant sub-inspector Amar Chand from Vigyan Nagar Police Station said the girl was a student of 11 class and she was preparing for the Nation Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET).
Who was Richa Sinha?
According to ASI Amar Chand, Richa Sinha was a native of Ranchi, Jharkhand. In Kota, Richa Sinha was preparing for NEET. The reports suggested that the girl was living at Blaz Hostel where she hanged herself to end her life. To prepare for the competitive examination, she enrolled in a coaching institute in Kota. She traveled to Kota from Ranchi earlier this year.
Police said during the preliminary investigation, they did not find any suicide note. The motive for her suicide is still under scrutiny. The corpse of the deceased was sent to MBS Hospital for an autopsy. The warden of the hostel said she had a conversation with Richa’s father a month ago and suggested visiting and meeting her.
Richa Sinha’s death has raised the toll to 25. In 2023, a total of 25 students have committed suicide so far. Mishika Singh wrote on X, “The series of suicides of coaching students is not stopping in Kota. Another case of suicide of a coaching student came to light again. A student preparing for NEET committed suicide by hanging herself.”
