Why was Jodi Arias arrested?
Jodi Arias was arrested on suspicion of murder of her ex-boyfriend Travis Alexander who was found dead in his Arizona home. He was a resident of Mesa, Arizona. Reports have suggested that Travis Alexander was brutally butchered on June 4, 2008. When police responded to Travis’s home, they found him with a total of 27 stab wounds. He was also shot with a gun in the head. This case became the biggest case of that year. Upon investigation police found Travis Alexander was dating Jodi Arias.
Reportedly, Jodi Arias and Travis Alexander met each other in a company meeting where they both were employed. Eventually, they started dating each other. Jodi Arias’s ex-boyfriend was a Mormon and he was following strict church instructions about not casually making relationships with women. In addition, many of Travis’s close persons were not convinced of his relationship with Jodi Arias thus their affair ended after one and half years. Police eventually arrested Jodi Arias in connection with Travis’s murder.

This case remained unsolved for four years. In 2013, Jodi Arias started standing trials. During the trial, the defense argued that Jodi Arias killed Travis in self-defense but the circumstances suggested otherwise. Meanwhile, the prosecutor sought the death penalty but the jury announced a life sentence to Arias. It is still not known why Jodi Arias killed Travis Alexander. Currently, she is serving a life sentence for the murder of her ex-boyfriend at Perryville State Women’s Jail located in Goodyear, Arizona. Documents suggested that Jodi Arias is held with no possibility of parole. In the jail, she has been working as an aide at the library since 2018. She is in a medium-low security wing of the jail.
