WhatsApp Beta For Android Now Includes Companion Mode And Tablet Connectivity. The Android beta version of WhatsApp’s companion mode for mobile phones is being rolled out to some beta testers after the company released a presentation sheet to explain WhatsApp on your tablet.
Last month, we revealed that users could link their existing WhatsApp account to an Android tablet via a new companion mode made available via the WhatsApp beta for the Android 2.22.21.6 update.

Even while we didn’t have a specific release date, we did declare that the mobile phone companion mode was on its way. Last but not least, WhatsApp has enabled the mobile phone companion mode for some beta testers to try out.
If you have an existing WhatsApp account, you can easily find out if you can link it to a second mobile phone by checking the settings within the registration screen to see if there is a “Link device” option, as seen in this screenshot. If this choice becomes available, you can install WhatsApp on another mobile device.
As soon as you connect your WhatsApp account to a new phone, all of your previous conversations will be mirrored on the new device. Due to the early stage of development, several functionalities, such as viewing live locations and managing broadcast lists and stickers, may not yet be available.

Keep in mind that you can connect up to four devices at once, so you can use more than two phones with the same WhatsApp account. Additionally, when using WhatsApp from a linked mobile phone, your private messages and calls are still end-to-end encrypted.
This is because messages are synced across all of your devices whenever they are received, ensuring that your privacy is never compromised. In the next weeks, more users will be able to access the companion mode between mobile phones after installing the current WhatsApp beta for Android update from the Play Store.
