West Brom will make Matheus Pereira’s loan agreement permanent, with boss Slaven Bilic claiming that the Brazilian has done “more than enough” to prove his worth.

The 23-year-old was a revelation since joining the Baggies in the summer for a seasonal loan from Sporting Lisbon, producing 10 assists and also finding the net five times.

And because the club has an option to permanently sign the winger, Bilic plans to activate that clause as soon as the January transfer window is opened.

“It has to happen the way he likes it here, he loves it here,” said Slaven Bilic. “He has found himself here and feels very important.

“We love him, he loves us. He is important to us, we are important to him.

“We have an option and of course we will activate it as soon as possible, because he has done more than enough to make sure that he is a big player for us.”

“Diangana situation out of our hands”

However, Bilic remains less certain about the future of Grady Diangana, who has a seasonal loan from West Ham.

The 21-year-old, who is expected to miss the New Year’s Day championship conflict against Leeds due to injuries live on Sky Sports Football, could be recalled after David Moyes was appointed as Hammers manager.

Bilic admits that although he would like to keep the attacking midfielder at the club, he acknowledges that he is not in control of the situation.

“For someone so young, he quickly becomes a major player in a team that challenges a huge prize,” Bilic said.

“Feeling that pressure and dealing with it is great – it’s great for him and it’s good for us.

“He thinks it is great here and in the long run it is great for West Ham United with the plan that he stays with us all season.

“But now that they have changed their manager, we don’t know what will happen, but hopefully he will stay. It’s out of our hands, but we’re doing our best.”
