The Sims 4 Players: While death is a part of life in the Sims universe, many Sims 4 players feel there should be more in-game content dedicated to remembering those who have passed away.
A Sim will die and their family may cry, but otherwise, life in The Sims 4 continues as normal unless the player turns off aging.
Even though The Sims 5 is already in the works, players of the previous installment, The Sims 4, have been given a plethora of new content in the form of expansion packs.
In addition, The Sims 4 receives regular, minor updates that expand the game’s features without charging any additional money.

The game is constantly evolving, so players have plenty of suggestions for how to make it better; one area that is still lacking is the death mechanics.
Twitter user chez p1zza has compiled a list of suggestions for enhancing the Sims’ death mechanics. First, a new variety of cemetery lots might also provide a unique path to success in the Sims’ professional lives.
A celebration of life party and related social interactions were proposed by chz p1zza so that surviving Sims could reflect on their lost friends and family members. There are also preexisting items, but they don’t have any significant effects on gameplay.
Even if your Sim dies of something completely ridiculous in The Sims 4, they will still receive an urn and a gravestone after their death. However, chz p1zza thinks things would be more engaging if the family was given the ashes or invited to the funeral of the deceased sim.
Another commenter agreed, saying that the mourning period is too long for how little it accomplishes (other than the sim crying occasionally) and how quickly it is followed by the sim acting as if nothing had happened.
Among the regular additions, Sims 4 players hope one day they’ll have game mechanics allowing them to mourn their sims’ passing. https://t.co/sGyApkkegN

Some have argued that this is great, but that such features should be opt-in because players might grow too attached to their sims and never let them die, despite the fact that there have been some hilarious ways to die in the Sims franchise. chz p1zza even tagged EA’s Sims 4 producer Dave Miotke after compiling this wishlist in the hopes that some of these suggestions would be implemented.
Clearly, there are more than a handful of Sims players who would like to see the Sims add depth to the death event.
Players will just have to wait and see if their requests will be taken into account and if they can be added to The Sims 4 in a future “Game Pack” or if they will have to wait until The Sims 5. The Sims 4 can now be purchased for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
