Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is the most anticipated role-playing game of the year. This upcoming game is a follow-up to last year’s Breath of the Fire, and it’s set for release on May 12 of this year. The original game was an insane success for Nintendo, so high hopes are held for the sequel.
The game will launch exclusively for the Nintendo Switch, and everyone is counting down the days until it does. On the other hand, the game’s release will undoubtedly raise some tricky questions.
Will the Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Be the Last Game?
Over the course of its history, Legends of Zelda has amassed a massive fan base. However, there comes a time when every story arc must come to a close. Is this, Tears of the Kingdom, the final installment in a long-running series?
Let’s start with the title itself to see how this works. Each entry in the Legend of Zelda series has a distinct title that summarises the game’s main themes. It’s crucial once again, and this is a big deal. The logo title immediately draws attention to Master Sword, which has been broken but is now whole thanks to Link’s magic. However, the dragon emblem is far more captivating.

The logo appears to show one dragon consuming another, which has led some to speculate that this represents something more significant. Even the game’s huge doors feature the serpent dragons’ visual aesthetic.
A couple’s hands holding hands appeared in the trailer when the logo appeared. In the statue, Zelda can be seen sculpted as a lady if one looks closely enough. I can see a lot of myself in her. Everything about her resembles Zelda, down to the last detail, even her sharp, long ear and her tresses of hair. Also, the sculpture contains a second image that appears to be the goddess Hylia.
Hylia’s decision to give up her godhood was common knowledge among the populace. Hyrule’s royal family is now imbued with her divinity. There is a striking resemblance between the two sculptures, which represents the similarities between Zelda and Hylia.
The logo’s serpentine dragons are reminiscent of the Ouroboros symbol. The cycle of life and death is represented by this motif, as is the unstoppable progress of nature. The game’s depiction of a pair of serpentine snakes, however, suggests a divine union. Therefore, it seems likely that Zelda will transform into Hylla in this version of the game.
This might start a never-ending spiral of heavenly rebirth and metamorphosis. This means that the current Zelda can change into Hylia and that this cycle will continue to play out indefinitely.
So while it may be the Legend of Zelda’s final chapter in a spiritual sense, more games with similar philosophies are possible. To add, we don’t know where Zelda and Hylia came from in the divine realm if they are the same person. All these secrets have the potential to shape a future game, with the outcome depending heavily on the studio and the fans’ attitudes toward the Legend of Zelda.
