The Legend Of Zelda: “Tears Of The Kingdom” Officially Announced

Zelda, The Legend of: The Breath of the Wild’s sequel, Tears of the Kingdom, is scheduled for release on May 12, 2023.

The next game in the acclaimed The Legend of Zelda franchise had its title and release window confirmed at this year’s Nintendo Direct. The forthcoming game is the sequel to Breath of the Wild and will be called The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

Nintendo has released a new clip showing off some gameplay from the upcoming game. A new ability granted to Link by the Sheikah Slate appears to allow him to rewind time. Onlookers catch him atop a rocky outcropping and mid-leap. If the rumors about The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom are true, then we may see the return of massive vertical item climbing.

According to Nintendo, “the latest edition in the famous Legend of Zelda franchise will take you up into the skies and an expanded universe that goes beyond the huge regions of Hyrule.” The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, the sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, will be released for Nintendo Switch on May 12, 2023.

When it was released in 2017, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild received high appreciation for its innovative plot and gameplay. Nintendo has confirmed that a sequel to 2017’s Breath of the Wild will be released in 2019, though they have not yet announced the title. The game’s release date had been set for 2022, however it was pushed back to the spring of 2023 in March.
