Tekken 8 Gameplay Trailer Features King in Action

The roster and gameplay of Tekken 8 keep getting better, with returning fighters getting completely new looks and new moves that fit better with the game’s heavily rushdown-focused style.

Some of these characters, like Jin Kazama, Nina Williams, Paul Phoenix, and Kazuya Mishima, have been around for a long time. Bandai Namco put out a new gameplay trailer for the series’ best grappler, King. King has been a playable character in every Tekken game so far, and Tekken 8 won’t be an exception.

He also shows off a brand-new stage that looks like an arena and is shaped like an octagon. The only thing that moves on this stage is the wall. Below, you can see King’s brand-new gameplay trailer and a new stage:

King is a great grappler in Tekken, and he brought chain throws to the game. King also has several brand-new command grabs, including one that he can do after a launcher to make his combos last longer. Some of the properties of a few moves were also changed to make them work better with the new system.

Do you know that every day there is a new rumor about Counter-Strike? Well, this one might just top them all, as Valve has apparently trademarked the name “CS2”:

King’s design is based on his Tekken 7 outfit, but the front of the cape he wears when he runs around is a little different. His wrestling gear is still yellow and blue, which is the same color scheme he’s had for 29 years.

However, his appearance has changed in other ways, too. For example, several command grabs, including the new ones, have brand-new camera work, which makes everything feel more alive.

King’s Rage Art and different victory animations for the character were also shown. King, Nina, Paul, and Law are the only characters who have been in every game so far. None of the other characters shown have been in every game. Other characters, like Yoshimitsu, who isn’t in the game yet, are also missing. If more of these characters show up, we’ll let you know.

King’s addition brings up a possible question: When will other grapplers like Marduk and Armor King be added to Tekken 8? Both of them were DLC characters in the last game, and Marduk has been in every Tekken game since the fourth one. But they haven’t been seen in-game yet, so it’s not clear if they’ll come back or not.

We’ll keep adding new information as it comes out about Tekken 8, including characters, story, trailers, and DLC. At a later date, Tekken 8 will come out for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. Information about pre-orders has not been made public as of right now.
