Police identified the deceased as the entrepreneurs of an education company, Rakesh Kamal and Teena Kamal. The third victim was identified as their daughter Arianna Kamal. Morrissey shared the details of the deceased during a press conference held by NBC Boston. He identified the victims as 57-year-old Rakesh Kamal, 54-year-old Teena Kamal, and 18-year-old Arianna Kamal. Furthermore, the Norfolk County District attorney shared that Rakesh and Teena Kamal were the leaders at an educational company based in Massachusetts. To note, Rakesh Kamal has been listed as the president and Chief Executive Officer of EduNova by the Better Business Bureau. Rakesh Kamal was also known as Rick Kamal. Reportedly, the company was started in 2016 and dissolved in 2021.

Speaking of Rakesh Kamal’s wife, Teena Kamal was the Chief Executive Officer of the educational company where she worked with top university faculties and businessmen to produce resources that prepare students to lead the global economy. Teena Kamal’s biography also claimed she worked for the American Red Cross. The online bio says “Her 30+ years of experience in the education and technology industries spans building successful products and organizations at Aegis Software Corp, EMC Corporation, and Fidelity Investments. Before joining EduNova, she led the development of major consumer advice, guidance, and education products for large financial firms.”
Notably, Teena Kamal filed for bankruptcy in federal court a few days ago. She launched a breakthrough customer service technology that is used by thousands of people in a state-of-the-art call center. In her career, Teena founded several startups including Zendigo Group Inc. where she worked as a Board advisor. She consulted with several reputed education institutes including Harvard University. Also, Teena had three US patents pending. She graduated magna cum laude from Delhi University. She was an alumnus of Harvard University.
The Boston Globe stated that both Rakesh and Teena Kamal were tied to EduNova. “Rakesh and Teena Kamal had been listed on the website of EduNova, a now-defunct education technology company, as the firm’s president and chief operating officer, respectively,” However, EduNova’s website no longer works. Rakesh Kamal was an alumnus of MIT Sloan School of Management and Boston University. He also studied at Stanford University and held many executive positions in the education-consulting field.
Speaking of the third victim, Arianna Kamal was working as a writing tutor, transitions mentor, and blood drive coordinator at Milton Academy based in Massachusetts. She was 18 years old at the time of her death, working as a virtual tutor for the Immigrant Family Services Institute located in Mattapan, Massachusetts. Arianna Kamal was a student at Middlebury College, according to her LinkedIn account.
According to DA, their cause of death would be determined by the medical examiner. However, a gun was recovered from the scene located near Rakesh Kalam’s body. Police said that the recovered gun was used in the deaths. Reportedly, the police answered a call from a family member who visited their house located at 8 Wilsons Way, Dover, Massachusetts, for a casual meeting at around 7:24 am on December 29, 2023. The person who called the police was a male family member who discovered three victims deceased inside the mansion. Attorney Morrissey said, “State police found a firearm on the premises,” The district attorney further added the mansion is in a safe community and a nice neighborhood where the last homicide incident happened in 2020. According to Morrissey, the mansion has 11 bedrooms and 13 bathrooms more than 19,000 square feet. The motive of the apparent suicide has not been determined yet.
