According to the source, districts have been severely affected in some places such as Kancheepuram, Truvallur, Perungalathur Chengalpet, and Peerkankaranai. As per the Meteorological Department official Chennai and its nearby regions in the northern coastal Tamil Nadu are experiencing very heavy rain. On 29th November 2023, Wednesday, there was a range of 5 to 6 cm and even above in some other places. India Meteorological Department (IMD), has recently made a tweet in which it has been claimed that there is a prediction for Tamil Nadu, Karaikal, and Puducherry on 2nd and 3rd December 2023 and IMD has also issued a red alert. And also issued an orange alert for 25 districts of Tamil Nadu yesterday evening.

The NDRF teams have now put on standby in Arakkonam Town which is currently considering the forecasted cyclone warning which is issued by IMD. The collector of Tiruvallur has recently announced that all the schools and colleges in the direct are going to remain closed on 30th November 2023, Thursday which means today and it is because of the heavy rainfall in Tamil Nadu and some other northern coastal regions of the state. All the schools in Chennai are going to remain closed and the holiday of school might get extended if the rain continues for more days.
