Starfield Early Access – Play Before the Official Launch

Starfield comes out on September 6, but fans of Bethesda’s sci-fi RPG will be able to play it as early as September 1 if they’re willing to pay a bit more. Starfield is without a doubt one of the most anticipated video games of the year, and with good reason.

It is the first single-player RPG released by Bethesda in nearly a decade, and its gameplay presentations have been quite impressive. Recently, Bethesda hosted a Starfield Direct presentation that provided fans with their best glimpse at the game to date.

The Starfield Direct demonstrated that Starfield will be a Bethesda RPG in the classic tradition but set in space, with an ambitiously vast world, space exploration, and more. Time will tell if Bethesda’s space-faring adventure Starfield will live up to the hype, but things are undoubtedly looking up.

Do you know that, in response to player concerns raised during the beta, Exoprimal has added a new mode where players race against the clock to finish tasks instead of fighting with other players? Capcom revealed additional information about Exoprimal, a universe in which you and up to nine other players can complete missions:

For many admirers, the September 6 release date for Starfield cannot arrive soon enough. Those who cannot wait until September 6 to play the game have the option of purchasing the Starfield Premium Edition for $99.99 or the Premium Edition Upgrade for $34.99 (bringing the total to approximately $105 if they choose this route).

The Starfield Premium Edition includes the Shattered Space DLC, the Constellation Skin Pack, the game’s soundtrack, a digital artbook, and a Steelbook display case with a Constellation insignia for those who purchase it physically. It also includes up to five days of early access, allowing supporters to begin playing on September 1 instead of September 6.

Those who intend to play Starfield via Xbox Game Pass should be aware that they do not need to purchase the $99.99 version of the game in order to gain early access. According to our understanding, Xbox Game Pass subscribers will be able to acquire Starfield early and then purchase the $34.99 Premium Upgrade to play alongside other early-access players on September 1.

Here is the official Starfield tweet for pre-ordering the Premium Edition for up to five days of early access:

Those who can wait until September 6 won’t have to pay anything in addition to their standard Game Pass subscription charge, but this is a good option for those who want to play the game through Game Pass but don’t want to pay $99.99 for the Premium Edition.

It will be intriguing to see how many Starfield customers opt for the Premium Edition over the standard edition. Ultimately, this seems like a great way for Xbox to double-dip with consumers by requiring those who are subscribed to Xbox Game Pass to pay extra for early access.
