Specification Comparison of OPPO Reno9, Reno9 Pro, and Reno9 Pro+

Specification Comparison of OPPO Reno9: The OPPO Reno9, Reno9 Pro, and Reno9 Pro+ are the official releases in the OPPO Reno9 Series. The phones range from the midrange category to the flagship one.

For now, they are official, but they will come shortly to the worldwide markets too. They are not likely to launch in Europe, where at least one of the variations should come under the Find X6 lineup.

While waiting for their global introduction, it is time to learn the differences between each model. That is the reason why we decided to offer a comparison between the specifications of the OPPO Reno9, the Reno9 Pro, and the Reno9 Pro Plus.

Design

The OPPO Reno9 in its most basic form is not the most costly model available, but I find its style to be very appealing in the Red special edition. Though the Pro Plus version is more robustly constructed, this one is noticeably thinner and lighter.

Furthermore, it is available in a single unique colour combination—Red with gold detailing around the camera module. The only noticeable difference between the Pro and non-Pro models is that the Pro version does not come in red. Despite its aluminium body, the OPPO Reno9 Pro Plus’s bigger and heavier profile discourages me from opting for it over the standard model.

Display

All of these phones are equipped with exactly the same display, there are no changes. It’s an AMOLED screen with a 6.7-inch diagonal, a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2412 pixels, a 120 Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ certification, peak brightness of 950 nits, Asahi Glass AGC DT Star 2 protection, and an in-display fingerprint sensor that can display up to one billion colours.

It is not the finest display you can find on an OPPO handset, but it is still a high-end panel. The Pro Plus variation differs significantly from the standard edition by including stereo speakers for a superior listening experience.

Specs & Software

The OPPO Reno9 Pro+’s status as the company’s most powerful smartphone means that its hardware is one of its primary selling points. It runs on the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset and can accommodate as much as 512 GB of native storage in addition to 16 GB of RAM.

The OPPO Reno9 Pro is less powerful, but still equipped with a high-end chipset: the Dimensity 8100 Max from Mediatek, along with 16 GB of RAM and up to 512 GB of native storage. The base model is a mid-range with a Snapdragon 778G mobile platform, up to 12 GB of RAM, and up to 512 GB of storage. All the phones ship with ColorOS 13, a fork of Android 13.

Camera

OPPO Reno9 Pro Plus is the sole phone of the series that we identify as a flagship camera phone. The main camera is a 50-megapixel Sony IMX890 model with optical image stabilisation, and there is also 8 megapixels worth of ultrawide and 2 megapixels worth of macro capabilities.

The Reno9 Pro comes in second with its 50-megapixel Sony IMX890 main camera and 8-megapixel ultrawide shooter. With only a 64-megapixel primary camera, a 2-megapixel macro lens, and no ultrawide sensor, the Reno9 is really a mid-range device.
