Six Potential Substitutions for Leandro Gonzalez Pires

Leandro González Pirez may not be the Atlanta United player next season, but instead of sulking, we can look to the future and check out some potential replacements.

Note before we startThis is for fun. This is not reporting. It scans the Football Manager 2020 database to view profiles of some players. If this is your first time, check out some of our old posts behind the players we are in dug up already, including Franco Escobar and Ezekiel Barco,

Let’s go.

Dario Van Den Buys

Let me direct you to the second half of this video, which shows the range of Van den Buys, containing both sharp vertical passes and diagonal diagonals for wide players. A Belgian would certainly be the first for Atlanta, but he has experience at Eredivisie. And most importantly, he is probably nearing the end of his deal, lowering his price.

Jack simpson

There is no decent compilation of Simpson since he is still an extreme player in Bournemouth, but here is a cool fan-goal camera that he scored in the EFL Cup against Middlesbrough in 2017.

In any case, with regard to Simpson, it is unrealistic to expect that an English player who has made several matches in the Premier League will begin his career to finally switch to MLS. But a loan move can be an ideal move for a player like Simpson. Bournemouth can give the center regular competitive starts in the league, where the English player can quickly settle accounts, and use the season to analyze their prospects for the long term (which may include selling if the MLS aquarium creates a market for its services).

Thomas Cardona

It seems that for Cardona there is no video with bright moments, which is probably a good thing, as it may indicate that it is under control. His FM profile is a dream, to be honest, exactly what you want to see. Another nice thing is that he does not play for one of the Argentine giants, so he may be more willing to move to a more prominent league with modern amenities.

Hector Martinez

Hector Martinez is not as complete as some others on this list, since he is still a growing prospect. The video was shot three years ago, but even in this case you can see all the sharpness Martinez copes with. He is also the farthest center in this group, which would be nice on a large platform, like at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

Cameron Carter-Vickers

Cameron Carter-Vickers makes sense in every way. Tottenham recently recalled him from his Stoke City loan, which means he is as accessible as possible for the player. He would be especially attractive to the MLS team because he is a local player. And given Darren Eals’s relationship with Tottenham, Carter-Vickers was teammates with Emerson Hindman on USMNT U-20 Hindman, captain in New Zealand, or even the fact that Atlanta Falcons are playing a damn game Tottenham Hotspur stadium next season makes an eerie amount of sense.

Leandro Vega

Leandro Vega does not try to be anything more than a strong, central defender who won the duel, something that Frank de Boer might prefer a more dynamic player in this position. He is another player who is at the right time in his contract with the club, who can count on making a profit (although his value will still be relatively scarce).
