Steamforged Games, which is also making a tabletop version of Elden Ring, is making a tabletop version of Sea of Thieves. Sea of Thieves is a happy, massively multiplayer pirate adventure for PC and Xbox made by Rare Ltd.
Steamforged announced on Wednesday that the release date for Sea of Thieves: Voyage of Legends is set for the summer of 2023. Steamforged describes the game as a “competitive seafaring adventure for 2-4 players” in a press release.
As they compete for the title of Pirate Lord, players will work to improve their ships (from Sloop to Galleon), hire crew members, sell off cargo at the central Outpost, and go on treasure hunts.

Mat Hart, Steamforged Games’ co-founder, said in a statement (as reported by POLYGON) –
“From a creative perspective, Sea of Thieves’ distinctive art style has been a real pleasure to work with, and looks just as evocative on tiles as it does on screen.”
“Rare captured pirate magic with their compelling gameplay loop, and that’s something we’ve strived to bring to the board game, too.”
You can pick up Sea of Thieves: Voyage of Legends for $59.95 (or £59.99 or €59.95 depending on your location). You’ll find ten regular dice and 24 standees in addition to more than 150 playing cards inside the box.
Since its 2017 debut, Steamforged has released not one but two new “core sets” for Dark Souls: The Board Game. Soon, it will ship to backers the adaptation of Monster Hunter: World which was announced on Kickstarter in 2020.
