About 50 million copies of Red Dead Redemption 2 have been sold, marking a significant sales milestone. Take-Two Interactive announced this number in its quarterly financial report, remarking that the Western open-world game had performed better than expected.
The article also acknowledged holiday updates’ role in maintaining Red Dead Online’s player base.
According to Take-Two, “the #1 selling game on Steam for the quarter and #3 for 2022” is Red Dead Redemption 2. According to the publisher’s most recent quarterly report, in August 2022, RDR2 sold roughly 45 million copies.
The company later reported that it anticipates revenues to increase even further. It was stated that both Red Dead Online and RDR2 would be significant financial drivers in the future.

Take-Two also said that Grand Theft Auto V had sold over 175 million units with RDR2. It attributes this success to the steady stream of GTA Online patches it has released, mainly the Los Santos Drug Warfare update at the end of last year. Likewise, nearly 8 million copies of NBA 2K23 were purchased.
