Who are Rayssa Leal’s Parents?

Rayssa Leal is a Brazilian professional skateboarder. She has won a silver medal in Women’s street skateboarding at the Summer Olympics 2020. Her full name is Jhulia Rayssa Mendes Leal. She was born on 4th January 2008 in Imperatiz, Maranhao, Brazil. As of 2024, she is just 16 years old right now. She alternates school studies with training. She started skating when she was just six years old. After she got her first skateboard on her 6th birthday as a gift from her family, she became interested in sports. Rayssa Leal gained attention for the first time when she was just seven years old through an internet video in which she was skating in a tutu and she was jumping off tall structures on her skateboard. That video was filmed and posted by her mother on 7th September 2015. Rayssa Leal was born to Haroldo Oliveira Leal and Lilian Mendes. Her parents are the reason behind her success. When her mother filmed that video she shared that video with professional skateboarder Tony Hawk. Then on the next day, Tony reposted that video on Twitter (X) with a comment, He did not know anything about it, but it was completely amazing: a fairytale-style heelflip in Brazil. That video completely changes the life of Leal.

Rayssa Leal first competed in the Street League Skateboarding in the 2019 Championship in London. She placed third with a score of 26.0 as she finished above Alexis Sabione, Leticia Bufoni, and some other skaters. Now she is making her parents and her fo country proud.
