As per reported by The New York Times, Tsunekazu Ishihara, CEO of The Pokémon Company, remarked at the 2019 app announcement-

“The concept of this game is for players to look forward to waking up every morning.”

Pokemon Sleep takes players to a new island where Professor Neroli researches the slumbering behaviors of Pokémon. Naturally, Snorlax is present, and other Pokémon will be drawn to and rest near Snorlax, allowing the player to catch them all as they sleep.

According to The Pokémon Company, “All you have to do is get a good night’s sleep,” Your sleeping habits will be tracked, logged, and analyzed. The user will access new Pokémon exhibiting one of three sleep states: napping, snoozing, or slumbering.

Nintendo’s upcoming Pokémon Go Plus Plus device will be the driving force behind Pokémon Sleep. Like the previously released Pokémon Go Plus and Pokéball Plus hardware, the new device takes the form of a Pokéball-shaped disc.
