Additional Persona 5 Game Has Been Announced

Persona 5, Persona 5 Royale, Persona 5: Dancing in Starlight, and Persona 5 Strikers have all been released. That’s a lot of Persona 5, but Sega and Atlus think we can handle even more, so a new spinoff called Persona: Phantom of the Night has just been announced.

Persona Central has translated that this one is a mobile game called P5X that is being made by the Chinese company Perfect World Games. Before you ignore that, though, like I almost did, take a look at this trailer:

Those video clips are awesome, in my opinion. The little owl, too! And the designs of everyone’s characters! They’re just right (long-time series designer Shigenori Soejima worked on the main character and owl sidekick, which would explain that).

This footage looks awesome because it looks exactly like the Persona 5 we played on consoles and PC, right down to the mix of exploration, class building, and turn-based combat.

Do you know that Kirby’s Dream Land 2 can now be played online through Nintendo Switch? It joins titles like BurgerTime Deluxe, Side Pocket, and Xevious:

However, it doesn’t really show what kind of gacha, microtransaction, or payment systems will be in place, which could be a deal-breaker. Guess we’ll have to see how that all works on March 29, when the game gets its first public test.

You play a high school student whose parents are “travelling abroad,” leaving you home alone to go to school during the day and fight demons at night.

The trailer suggests that the story will be very similar to the main game, but with a new group of kids, teammates, and possible social links (though Joker and crew do make an appearance based on a screenshot from the official site).

Visit the game’s official site (though you’ll need to translate it since it’s all in Chinese) to see more of the fantastic character design work.
