Overwatch 2 Deathmatch Mode and Its Crazy Bugs!

Overwatch 2 Deathmatch Mode: Overwatch 2's latest patch introduces a limited-time deathmatch mode that makes the game's most absurd abilities even more absurd. The arcade mode Battle for Olympus features one-of-a-kind challenges and a free-for-all deathmatch mode with seven playable heroes.

Each hero's abilities and ultimate have been modified to fit the season's Greek mythology theme. After using his ult, Reinhardt gains the ability to charge up to three enemies and pin them all at once.

When Roadhog uses his ultimate ability, he grows even larger and fires off enormous rocks. And if you look at Widowmaker while her Infra-Sight ult is up, you turn into stone.

The eight-player deathmatch mimics the action of the Total Mayhem arcade mode, with heroes racing around the map and unleashing ultimates and abilities at each other.

It's utter anarchy and a radical change from the usual team-based gameplay. Although Overwatch 2's deathmatch mode isn't my cup of tea, I can see how the zaniness of Battle for Olympus would appeal to players looking to switch gears from competitive or casual play.

I can't deny that wall-riding as Lucio and slamming enemies into walls with a boop as if you were Doomfist is hilarious.

Many of the mode's challenges will require you to rack up a high body count for each hero before you can move on to the next one, and players are already bracing themselves for the grind that will be required to earn the mode's specialized titles.

If you finish six of the challenges, you'll receive the Winged Victory Mercy skin that was originally released in 2017. Aside from the new mode, the Junker Queen also received a number of intended and unintended buffs, the most notable of which was an increase in power for her axe ability.

The raucous brawler has the unique ability to cleave enemies with her huge axe and inflict a chunk of damage and life-stealing wounds on them. The patch notes state that the axe's cooldown has been “reduced by 2 seconds for each enemy it impacts”.

Players have found the buff to be significantly better after testing it. Despite the “enemy” part of the notes, the cooldown reduction occurs whenever the ability counts as colliding with any destroyable object, turret, or shield in the game.

Due to the abundance of destructible objects on the map and the presence of possible shields and turrets, the Junker Queen's axe attack can have its cooldown completely removed, allowing her to spam it like Reinhardt's hammer.

She only needs two or three people to back up her shield before she starts swinging. And, if she eliminates someone, she gets healed for the duration of the leftover wound on the target, too. While some maps and long-range heroes may mitigate the issue, Overwatch 2 still frequently clusters players near objectives.

If you take advantage of the bug, Junker Queen could become the best tank in the game. That is unless Blizzard bans her for two weeks like they have other misbehaving heroes. Blizzard is “tracking an issue regarding Junker Queen's Carnage ability cooldown,” so the Junker Queen might be sticking around for the time being.

The patch also removed Sojourn's Cyber Detective skin, which featured a cyberpunk aesthetic but rendered her invisible. Questron on Twitch posted a video of an Echo using her ult to mirror the invisibility of a Sojourn who was also sporting the skin.

It would have been a nice reference to Cyberpunk 2077‘s pre-launch state if not for the unfairness of the bug. I guess it's for the best.

Overwatch 2 limited-time mode gives godlike powers

Battle for Olympus is an Overwatch 2 limited-time mode. The January 5-19 event will suit the Greek mythology concept of Season 2. Junker Queen, Roadhog, Pharah, Lucio, Ramattra, Widowmaker, and Reinhardt are all in Greek skins.

Then, a montage of heroes appears with the phrase “Unleash the Power of the Gods.” This event gives players incentives. According to the trailer, in this limited-time mode, each hero's ultimate will be based on a Greek god.

Junker Queen's Zeus-inspired skin is featured at the end of the trailer as she attacks foes with lightning. Widowmaker turns Reinhardt to stone while shooting her scope at him in her Medusa-inspired skin. Free-to-play Overwatch 2 It's available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5, Switch, and PC.
