OnePlus 10T Will Not Have An Alert slider

The leak turned out to be true; OnePlus’ next devices won’t include an alert slider. The OnePlus 10T will be unveiled on August 2nd, and like with the previous launch, OnePlus has already shared information about the upcoming device. The brand has acknowledged on the OnePlus Community forum that the OnePlus 10T does not have its recognizable Alert Slider, which has been a feature of OnePlus phones ever since the launch of the company’s first smartphone, the OnePlus One, in 2014.

As a result, the Alert Slider is being retired on the OnePlus 10T, the company’s first worldwide flagship model. The company believes this will enable them to offer the required room within the device to add new features and more batteries while retaining a thin and light form factor, which is the rationale for the decision.

Goodbye Alert Slider, hello 150W charging?

The OnePlus 10T, according to OnePlus, now has enough room for “high wattage charging, a huge battery capacity, and stronger antenna signal” because the slider has been removed. Additionally, according to OnePlus, maintaining the Alert Slider would restrict the battery to a 4,500mAh capacity due to the fact that it occupies 30 mm2 of motherboard space. Therefore, the OnePlus 10T might include the 4,800mAh battery that has been rumored.

No Hasselblad camera for OnePlus 10T

The business did state that the OnePlus 10T has two charging pumps, but they did not specify the high wattage charging speed. OnePlus could add 150W charging capabilities to the OnePlus 10T, as we saw with the OnePlus 10R, if it uses two charging pumps, as opposed to the OnePlus 10 Pro’s single charge pump that supports 80W fast charging.

A better antenna signal is the third argument in favor of the OnePlus 10T not having an Alert slider. The 15 different antennas on the OnePlus 10T’s antenna design, according to OnePlus, will enhance the network signal when the phone is held horizontally for gaming.

Not only does the OnePlus 10T say goodbye to the Alert Slider, but the firm has also decided not to include the Hasselblad camera configuration with the OnePlus 10T, according to the OnePlus lead designer Hope Liu, who spoke to The Verge. According to Liu, OnePlus did not use Hasselblad camera sensors in the OnePlus 10T because the company sought to provide an ultra-high-performance premium smartphone at the device’s selected price point.
