The 27-year-old power station scored three times in the Champions League for the Belgian champions earlier this season, including a goal against Liverpool owners in a group loss 2-1 at Anfield in November.
The Daily Mail statement on Tuesday evening City and Premier League rivals Brighton asked about a 10 million pound Samatta who scored 10 goals in 26 games this season and was Belgium’s top scorer last season.
Samatta, an international Tanzanian footballer, works under a contract with the Belgians until 2021, but after moving to Belgian club football in 2016 was prolific. The striker scored 26 goals in 49 matches last season for the club and the country and participated in the African Cup of Nations.
The newspaper also claims that Eintracht Frankfurt and Lazio are following the forward.
The transfer window officially opens on New Year’s Day, and the Canary Islands made it clear that they are eager to support Daniel Fark’s team for the survival of the Premier League.
Samatta is the last of a growing number of potential hitters touted with the Carrow Road switch to compete with Teemu Pukki and support Dennis Srbeni with injured Josip Drmic until January and Adam Aydah, who received a Football League loan.
