Moto X40 Will Launched in December With Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and IP68 Water Resistance

Moto X40 Will Launched in December: Now that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 has been unveiled, smartphone manufacturers are racing to introduce their first high-end devices powered by the new and better processor.

The Vivo X90 Pro+, just released, is the first smartphone to feature the new processor. As for other manufacturers, Xiaomi and iQOO each have future flagship products that will be available soon. Since Motorola doesn't want to be left in the dust, they've announced that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2-powered Moto X40 will be released in December.

The next Motorola Moto X40 will be dust and water-resistant, according to a Weibo post by Chen Jin, General Manager of Lenovo's Mobile Division. He went on to say that the phone would be available in the month of December.

The CEO was vague about the precise release date. The release of the mobile phone is expected to occur in the middle of the month. Jin has already disclosed the Moto X40's Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 specs and its performance on the AnTuTu benchmark.

According to the benchmarks, the SD 8 Gen 2 will have far superior performance than the MediaTek Dimensity 9200. When compared, the former's test score of 1312901 easily beats the latter's score of 1266101.

The handset, as has been widely reported, is expected to feature a 6.67-inch OLED display with rounded corners on all four sides. The display will be able to handle a resolution of FHD+, have colour depths of up to 10 bits, and include a fingerprint reader embedded beneath the screen.

The maximum amount of memory this device can support is LPDDR5x 18 GB, while the maximum amount of storage is 512 GB. Most likely, it'll use Android 13 with the MY UI 5.0 user interface. The Moto X40 could include a 5,000 mAh battery and support 68W quick charging.

Possible imaging hardware includes a 50-megapixel primary camera, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide unit, and a 12-megapixel telephoto sensor. This device is rumoured to have a 60-megapixel front-facing camera.
