Meta Quest 2 and Meta Quest Pro Get Significant Discount

Meta has announced a price drop for the Meta Quest Pro and the Meta Quest 2. Meta Quest Pro prices have dropped significantly since its release in October last year.

Over the years, Meta’s virtual reality headsets have failed to win over the gaming community. In addition to the recent removal of support for the first Oculus Quest headset, the requirement that gamers link their Quest devices to a Facebook account until August last year was not warmly received.

Sony’s PS VR2, the company’s second attempt to deliver virtual reality to gamers, has been very favorably welcomed, making life more difficult for Meta. In the long run, gamers should benefit from the intense rivalry among major corporations racing to the forefront of this innovative new industry.

UploadVR claims the Meta Quest Pro price has dropped from $1,500 to $1,000. The 128GB Meta Quest 2 remains at $400, while the 256GB model has dropped prices from $500 to $430. The new prices will go into effect on March 5 in the United States and Canada and on March 15 everywhere else.

This announcement came only a few days after Meta began talking about its future goals, which included the potential strength of the impending Meta Quest 3. Thus, it makes sense for the corporation to lower the older products prices temporarily.

These reductions can only be considered beneficial in the long run. The exorbitant cost has been cited as a significant barrier to entry for many would-be VR adopters. Meta has already tried a steep price cut for the Meta Quest Pro in January, so the company must have seen enough to decide it’s worth doing permanently.

Virtual reality fans have much to look forward to in the coming years. System sellers like Half-Life Alyx have only recently begun arriving on the market. On the other hand, it has been speculated that in the following years, some of the most popular games in the world will be released for virtual reality, giving players a new way to enjoy old favorites.

One theory even claims that the wildly popular game Roblox could make it to Meta Quest this year. It’s unclear, though, how the game would function in virtual reality.
