MaXXXine is the next movie in the X film series by Ti West. First, in 2022, there was X, a slasher movie set in the 1970s. Then, in 2023, there was Pearl, a prequel that told the story of how the bad guy in X got started.
In X, Mia Goth played both Maxine Minx and the k!ller Pearl. In the prequel, X as a young woman was shown. Now there’s MaXXXine, in which Goth will play p0rn star Maxine Minx again. It takes place after the massacre at the end of X, as the aspiring actor tries to make it in Hollywood.
So far, Ti West’s low-budget horror films have gotten quite a reputation. They have been praised by critics and done well at the box office, even though low-budget indie films have been having a hard time. As the X series continues, read on to learn everything you need to know about MaXXXine.

Even though Ti West showed a sneak peek of MaXXXine during a screening of Pearl at the 2022 Toronto International Film Festival, the real work on the movie doesn’t start until later this month.

Fans of X and Pearl are lucky because West shoots quickly and cheaply, and producers A24 rushed the film to cash in on the success of the first two parts. Before the end of 2024, MaXXXine should be in theaters.
Who will be in the movie MaXXXine? To put it simply, everyone. Mia Goth will be back as the main character, an adult film star who wants to make it big in Hollywood. She will be joined by a long list of other stars. Actor Giancarlo Esposito will play an agent for adult film stars, and Elizabeth Debicki will play a movie director.
Michelle Monaghan and Bobby Canavale have also been cast as LAPD officers, and Kevin Bacon will join them as a private detective. Halsey and Moses Sumney, who are both musicians and have acted before, are also in the cast.
Sumney has been cast as the main character in the new HBO show The Idol, and Halsey will soon be seen with Sydney Sweeney in the crime thriller Americana. Lily Collins will also be in MaXXXine, but no one knows what role she will play yet.
