The deceased was the vice president of student affairs at Lincoln University of Missouri which is a historically Black college and university in Jefferson City, Missouri. The VP of HBCU, Antoinette ‘Bonnie’ Candia-Bailey, a black woman, was found dead on Monday. She died by suicide. Speaking of the motive of her suicide, it is believed that Antoinette ‘Bonnie’ Candia-Bailey decided to take her own life due to bullying at the university. Nevertheless, the president of Lincoln’s National Alumni Association, Sherman Bonds has been suspended.

According to alumni, the vice president of student affairs at the aforementioned university was the victim of racism and bullying. The racism was a factor in the death of Antoinette ‘Bonnie’ Candia-Bailey. The university’s board of curators is reportedly conducting a review of its president, John B. Moseley who is white. As per the reports, he “has volunteered to be placed on paid, administrative leave while that review is conducted,” An external body will investigate the matter.
