League of Legends Server Status: You may have trouble logging into League of Legends if the servers are having problems. You should see if the issues are coming from your end or if the Riot servers are down. Checking Riot’s server status to see if League of Legends is functioning properly is covered here.
Are you unable to connect to the League of Legends servers at the moment?
If you want to know if the League of Legends servers is down or up, the best place to look is the Riot Games Service page. There will be many options, but you should visit the League of Legends page to see if Riot Games has addressed the platform’s issues.
In the page’s central section, just above the “Current messages” tab, you can change the region you’re checking to make sure you’re looking at the right one. League of Legends players can also use the down detector website to see if other users are having server issues.
A significant increase in the last 24 hours indicates server strain and possibly an issue on Riot’s end. Sadly, there’s probably not much you can do about this problem, and the best course of action might be to put the game down and try again later.
Investigating the Riot support Twitter page is the last thing you should do. Since the Riot Support page rarely shares posts and is usually slow to share, we only suggest this as a last resort. You should look into the previous suggestions we made, but it doesn’t hurt to double-check this page just in case.
If you have checked the League of Legends server status and found that they are currently offline, we suggest finding another game to play in the meantime. If the problem is widespread and affecting many Riot Games servers, finding a solution could take more time.

Methods for verifying Riot’s uptime
In the event that you are unable to launch the client or join a game, it is recommended that you first check Riot’s Service Status page to see if League is in fact down.
It will tell you if there was an issue or outage within the last 24 hours. While it may not be perfect, it should give you a pretty good picture of what’s going on.
Assuming there have been no major problems as of late, it will read, “No recent issues or events to report.”
How to use Downdetector
You can get similar results with the down detector, for example. The website tracks downtime on servers in real-time and displays an exhaustive history of problems over the past 24 hours.
There should be hundreds or thousands of reports in your area if League is down. If the website reports no server problems, the problem is likely on your end.

Methods for Verifying Riot Games Has Twitter Support
There’s no harm in popping on Twitter to see what Riot Support is up to. If the League of Legends servers is down due to a major problem in your area, Riot will almost certainly tweet about it.
We are aware that some players are experiencing an unexpected error when attempting to access League of Legends; we are working to resolve the issue as soon as possible,” this is the kind of tweet you can expect from Riot if there’s a problem.
Riot servers are down: Valorant, League, and Wild Rift
All of Riot’s multi-player games will experience downtime as a result of the company’s server issues. League of Legends, Valorant, Wild Rift, and Legends of Runeterra are all examples of such games. Here you can see if any (or all) of their games are currently experiencing maintenance.
As competitive multiplayer titles, Riot’s games are truly unplayable during downtime for server maintenance or upgrades. Because of the sheer number of people who play games like Valorant and League of Legends, any downtime experienced by the servers usually affects a sizable portion of the player base.
Several hours of downtime for each title are commonplace as maintenances are implemented alongside the latest patch, which is typically released in advance. At the same time, all of these multi-player games are vulnerable to sudden and unexpected server outages.
When servers are down, nobody can use anything, not even the gun range on Valorant or the League practice tool. Multiple players had trouble accessing the game on January 5, 2023.
While many players are now able to log in, they are still having trouble loading certain aspects of the game client, such as their friends’ list.
Despite the fact that the official Riot Games server status page reports “no issues,” players who try to log in to any of their games will receive a message indicating that the company is aware of the problem and is working on a fix.
Players are still having trouble logging into League of Legends, Valorant, Wild Rift, and Legends of Runeterra as of this writing.
