After nearly a decade in development, Dead Island 2 is officially available; now that it is, how should newcomers begin their exploration of the island?
Subscription services like Xbox Game Pass and (more recently) PlayStation Plus make it possible to play new games on their release dates, but Xbox Game Pass has the most selection of games available on launch day.
If you want to play Dead Island 2 this weekend, do you have to pay full price for it or is it available on Xbox Game Pass at all?
Is Dead Island 2 Available on Xbox Game Pass?
Dead Island 2 is not available on Xbox Game Pass, which is a bummer for subscribers of similar services. It’s not available on the standard subscription, the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate plan, or the PC edition of Game Pass. For the time being, then, purchasing the game is your only choice on Xbox.
Do you know that we waited a long time for Diablo 4, both before and after Blizzard confirmed its presence at BlizzCon 2019 in a shocking way? Since March’s open test offered us a taste of kἰlling demons, people want to know more about its gameplay:
For those who have been patiently waiting for this game’s arrival, the news that it would not retail for $60 is maybe even more disappointing.
Dead Island 2 has followed suit by being priced at $70, which is $10 more than purchasers were expected to spend. However, if you’ve been waiting for Dead Island 2 for this long, the price is likely not a dealbreaker.
Will Dead Island 2 Be Available on Xbox Game Pass?
Nothing that publisher Deep Silver has revealed thus far suggests that the game would be added to Xbox Game Pass at any point in the near future which would make waiting worthwhile if you’re already interested in playing it.
Not only is Dead Island 2 not available on Xbox Game Pass, but neither is the original game. While individual games may or may not appear on the service, there is no evidence that Deep Silver has a particularly strong relationship with Xbox that would make the inclusion of Dead Island 2 a foregone conclusion.
