iPhone 14 Rumors: No Titanium Model, Stronger MagSafe Magnets, And No Sierra Blue

More purported information regarding the future iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro has emerged as we get closer to Apple’s “Far Out” presentation in a little over one week, with the most recent batch outlining final expectations for the colors, performance, features, and more of the upcoming iPhones.

In the most recent rumor, user “yeux1122” on the Korean blog Naver quotes an unnamed “US developer source” as the original source.

There Is No High-end Titanium Model.

Apple was speculated to release a high-end “titanium” version of the iPhone 14 Pro, which would be made out of even stronger and more premium materials, however, this turned out to be just a rumor.

Current speculation is that Apple may have considered offering a titanium iPhone 14 Pro, but ultimately decided against it because of the high cost and high manufacturing complexity involved.

A New Battery Accessory and  Stronger MagSafe

According to the user “yeux1122,” the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro will feature enhanced MagSafe magnets for more securely attaching accessories, and will also be compatible with a new “exclusive battery accessory.”

While the iPhone 12 introduced MagSafe, the iPhone 13 didn’t make any major adjustments to the technology. As for the “exclusive battery accessory” the post mentions, it could be referring to a new version of Apple’s MagSafe power pack designed to work with the latest iPhone models.

Heat Management in A16 Has Improved

The latest rumor suggests that the A16 Bionic chip that will power the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max will have enhanced thermal management in addition to faster performance than the A15 Bionic chip that powered the iPhone 13 Pro.

The report claims Apple can boost iPhone performance by revamping the device’s thermal management. The new information follows rumors that Apple is considering using a vapour thermal chamber in the iPhone 14’s premium variant.

The iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max will include Apple’s brand-new A16 Bionic processor, while the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max will continue to use Apple’s A15 Bionic processor from the iPhone 13.

There Is No 2TB Storage Option, And The Lineup Still Starts At 128GB.

According to analyst forecasts, the base storage capacity of the iPhone 14 Pro family will remain at 128GB despite a predicted price hike. There were rumors that the base storage capacity of the iPhone 14 Pro would be increased to 256GB to offset the increased cost of the device, but it now appears that this will not be the case.

Recent speculation and analyst predictions both point to a higher starting price and a base configuration of 128GB. In addition, a rumor stated that the iPhone 14 Pro could come with a large 2TB storage capacity, however, this appears not to be the case according to the facts given today. The maximum capacity of the iPhone 14 Pro series will be 1TB, the same as that of the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max.

Colors: No More Blue Sierra

The rumors surrounding the colors of the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro have been unclear for the past few weeks, with the first report pointing to a purple iPhone 14 Pro coming from an unreliable source.

A purported photo leak last week showed a dark purple prototype of the iPhone 14 Pro. Contrary to the speculation of the day, the photos in question showed a blue option that looked suspiciously like Pacific Blue from the iPhone 12 Pro series.

The report claims that Apple will no longer provide the blue color choice, Sierra Blue, on its high-end iPhone 14 Pro lineup. Sierra Blue was first introduced with the iPhone 13 Pro in 2017. Instead, the account claims that the future high-end iPhones would be available in dark purple, silver, gold, graphite, and green, which runs counter to the prevailing speculation. According to the rumor mill, the iPhone 14 Pro color options will be as follows:
