The Ministry of Railways stated that the specially organized 282 trains will make a total of 2280 trips till Chhath Puja 2023. To announce this much-awaited decision, the Railways Ministry released a press release to share details of the routes of the trains across the country, like Delhi to Patna, Puri to Patna, Danapur to Saharsa, etc. Notably, the ministry also emphasized the security and safety of the passengers while using the specially organized train services.
In a press release, the Ministry of Railways announced, “Special Trains have been planned to connect major destinations across the country on railway routes like Delhi- Patna, Delhi-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra, Danapur-Saharsa, Danapur- Bengaluru, Ambala-Saharsa, Muzaffarpur-Yesvantpur, Puri-Patna, Okha-Naharlagun, Sealdah-New Jalpaiguri, Kochuveli-Bengaluru, Benaras- Mumbai, Howrah-Raxaul etc. During 2022, Indian Railways had notified 2614 trips of 216 Puja Special trains.” The ministry further added, “Additional RPF personnel have been deployed at major stations to ensure the security of passengers. Officers are deployed on emergency duty at major stations to ensure the smooth running of trains. Reportedly, to ensure the safety and security of the passengers, the officials of the Security and Vigilance Department will keep an eye continuously to monitor. Nevertheless, Zonal Headquarters gave instructions for maintaining cleanliness at retiring rooms, waiting halls, especially platforms, and stations. Some major stations will have “May I Help You” booths with TTEs and RPF Personnel to help passengers.
