The external affairs minister of India on Monday met David Cameron who is the newly appointed Foreign Secretary for the United Kingdom. S Jaishankar said that he hoped that both India and Britain would find a landing point workable for both of them. He kept on speaking about Agenda 2030. On Monday, S Jaishankar said, “We are focusing on what is officially called an enhanced trade partnership. In common sense, it’s called FTA (a free trade agreement) and that is today very much the focus of what the Indian and British systems are negotiating and where we hope that we will find a landing point that will work for both of us,” For the unversed, both India and Britain have been negotiating the Free Trade Agreement for more than a year since January 2022 with an aim to improve the estimated GBP 36 billion trading partnership between the two countries.
