Players will soon have another opportunity to try out the upcoming first-person shooter Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 during the second week of the Open Beta.
On September 22, players will be able to participate in a new beta week for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, giving them an early look at the next first-person shooter. The release date for the reimagining of 2009’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is October 28, making this multiplayer beta one of the final opportunities for players to try the game out before it goes live.
After restricting access to the beta for PlayStation users from September 16-20, the second week of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will be available to everyone. On September 22 and 23, the beta will be available to everyone who has preordered on PlayStation, Xbox, Steam, or Battle.Net. The beta will then be made available to all players on those platforms from September 24-26, regardless of whether or not they preordered.
How To Download the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Beta
You may easily sign up for the open beta of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 from September 24 until September 26. Before the beta finishes on September 26th, all gamers need to do is look for the open beta client on their platform’s store and download the game.

There is a little more involved procedure for preordering players to participate in the early access beta on September 22 and 23. Players who preorder the game from a participating retailer will receive a beta code that may be used to access the beta client:
- Redeem the beta code at callofduty.com
- Select a chosen platform and local region
- Receive a confirmation code, which can be entered into the chosen platform’s store to unlock the beta
- Begin the beta download
On different systems and in different regions, the beta download size will range from about 15 to 30 gigabytes. All gamers need to do to get in on the beta action is download the client on their PC, Xbox, or PlayStation before September 22 at 10 am PDT. (12 noon ADT, 3 pm CET, 6 pm BST)
What can you expect from the beta version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2?
Players who want to try out the single-player campaign will have to wait till the full release of Modern Warfare 2 is available. However, the following game types will be available to players:
- Team Deathmatch
- Domination
- Prisoner Rescue
- Knock Out
- Search and Destroy
- Ground War

Players can win permanent gifts in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s beta by gaining XP and levels.
