In Gotham Knights, characters including Batgirl, Red Hood, and Robin from the Arkham series team up. The plot takes place in a post-Batman Gotham, as the city descends into anarchy as rival gangs try to fill the void left by Batman’s death.
It is the first game in the series to feature cooperative gameplay, allowing players to band together to take down familiar foes. The game is an open-world version of Gotham, and its map combines several areas from the comics.
Each of the four main characters has its play style and abilities. There are five different areas to check out, with some having more access than others. We’ve laid down all you need to know about Gotham Knights to stay in the loop.
When the game finally does come out, we’ll tell you all about it, including when to expect it, who you may play as, and what kinds of features to anticipate. Sure, let’s go right in.
What Is The Origin Story Of The Gotham Knights?
To begin with, Gotham Knights, Who Bruce Wayne killed instantly. Batman had intended to depart from Gotham with other members of the Bat Family shortly before his death. Bruce has destroyed the Bat Cave and left the Belfry tower for the crew to use as their new headquarters.
After the death of Jim Gordon as commissioner of the Gotham City Police Department, Robin, Red Hood, Batgirl, and Nightwing band together to protect the city. The role of Gotham’s secret society, the Court of Owls, will also be explored.
According to the reveal trailer’s final shot of rows of frozen storage containers, the Talon assassins may have a sizable force to deal with in the city.
Don’t be deceived by the ambiguous ending of Arkham Knight; it could be setting up a similar scenario, but WB has clarified that Gotham Knights takes place in a distinct continuity. Instead of Arkham, it’s the Suicide Squad‘s job to kill the Justice League.
Have we lost Batman for good? Yes, Batman has ended, says director of creative services Patrick Redding. Let’s see how that pans out. According to Redding, there will be “just one” Riddler trophy and no Joker in Gotham Knights. However, Harley Quinn may make an appearance.
What Characters Appear In Gotham Knights?
Gotham is safe when Bruce Wayne is not there; four members of the Bat-family enlist to form Gotham Knights. The vigilante squad in Gotham Knights has already undergone several name changes, and their development as characters is shown when the story begins.
One of the most exciting innovations is that heroes level up even when you’re not using them. According to an interview with Gotham Knight’s creative director Patrick Redding and executive producer Fleur Marty, we learn that the four main characters all follow the same plot arc.
It means you shouldn’t feel punished for not choosing a favorite character, and switching between them should be easy.
Tim Drake, the third person to carry the Robin mantle, is the protagonist of this Gotham City tale. Despite being the youngest of the gang, Drake is also the most astute and skilled of the detectives.
Tim is “an accomplished fighter armed with his collapsible quarterstaff and trained in the art of stealth; Tim also holds a background in combining psychological warfare and behavioral sciences, all of which lay the scenario for him to achieve any assignment” in Gotham Knights.
A preview of the big announcement shows him in action with his chosen team. Between the reveal trailer and the gameplay description, you can also glimpse a couple of Robin’s possible outfits.
Barbara Gordon, also known as Batgirl, Oracle, and Batgirl once again, is another member of the Knights. She is the tech whiz and martial artist daughter of the late GCPD commissioner Jim Gordon.
The CW’s Gotham Knights state she’s “skilled in multiple fighting disciplines, including kickboxing, capoeira, and jiu-jitsu. The tonfa is her hallmark weapon. Barbara is also exceptionally proficient in breaking into and navigating technological systems and networks to glean information.”
In the reveal trailer, Batgirl’s hideout features a wheelchair in the foreground, indicating that the game takes place after her paralysis suffered during her time as Oracle. Now that she’s feeling better, she’s back to using the moniker Batgirl, and a veritable army of Robins joins her.
Jason Todd, the second Robin, has joined the team and is named “Red Hood.” His relationship with the Batman clan, particularly his successor Tim as Robin, is fraught.
After his death and subsequent resurrection, he underwent a series of transformations that eventually put him at odds with Bruce and company. WB claims that he has made peace with the Bat gang by the time of the story’s events, but their shared history may still prove contentious.
Gotham Knights describe his other abilities as follows “Jason has reached the physical limits of the human body and is an expert in fighting with a wide variety of weapons. Now that he’s back on good terms with the Batfamily, he uses Batman’s nonlethal tactics in battle.”
Put those two pistols out of your head. Let’s hope they’re not lethal.
Authentic Robin Nightwing (formerly known as Dick Grayson) is the group’s acrobatics expert and goes to battle with two escrima sticks. The Gotham Knights have dubbed him “Mr, “one of the most likable members of the Batfamily, a born leader, and an eternal optimist.
He came from an unconventional but loving circus family, and as a result, he places a premium on tight relationships.” It would be cool if WB used the fact that Dick and Barbara have a love past by pairing them together on the Knights team.
When Is The Gotham Knight’s Release Date?
On October 21, 2022, Gotham Knights will be available for purchase. The projected release date was 2021. Developers explained the delay in March 2021, stating that Gotham Knights need “additional time to create the finest possible experience for players.”

Gotham Knights Trailers
Here are all the Gotham Knights Trailers
The heroes you can choose from and the game’s history introduce in the first reveal video for Gotham Knights. To ensure the safety of Gotham City, Batman has detonated the Batcave and assigned four of his Bat Family allies to keep the peace.
Gotham Knights’ second major story trailer focuses on the game’s primary villain organization, the Court of Owls. And unlike what Nightwing might have you believe, they are more than just a legend.
The Court of Owls, introduced in a popular comic book storyline in 2011, acts as the shadow government of Gotham City. This preview shows that they also have assassins at their disposal and are highly armed.
Check out this brief Nightwing character trailer from Summer Games Fest 2022 to get a feel for how the spirit of the original Bat-son is implemented in the game. Quick on his feet, he is. To put it simply, he believes. Whatever it takes, including acrobatic combat flips, he wants the best for the city that raised him.
As the film progresses, we see Nightwing cycling through several different clothes, giving us an idea of the breadth of visual customization available to each character. This situation bothers me, those who hate the Dick Grayson ponytail.
The character trailer for Robin focused on young sidekick Tim Drake, who became Batman’s trusted aide after discovering Batman’s and Dick Grayson’s true identities.
He fights with a staff and uses the Justice League’s teleportation technology to get where he needs to go. In the Batgirl character video, Barbara Gordon showed off her fighting skills using an electric tonfa, zipline kicks, and stun bearings to defeat criminals.
Is Gotham Knights A Sequel To Batman: Arkham Knight?
There is no sequel to Gotham Knights. It’s a new story arc for the Batman video game franchise, inspired somewhat by the Arkham games.
For example, Red Hood is not the same person who died and came back to life; instead, he is an entirely new character with supernatural skills. You may look forward to a fresh plot and unique perspectives on some old favorites.
What you just read about Gotham Knights is all there is to know. As the game’s release date draws near, additional details will reveal.
