Since 2019, the Electronic Entertainment Expo has not been conducted in person. Now, it is possible that the event will not return in 2024 or 2025, at least not to the Los Angeles Convention Center.
According to a document from the LA City Tourism Commission, the trade exhibit for video games has canceled its live event for the next two years. The document’s Convention Sales data expressly states that it “includes E3 cancellations for 2024 & 2025.”
Although the city document indicates that E3 2024 will not be held at the Los Angeles Convention Center, the Electronic Software Association is hesitant to affirm that the entire event has been canceled.
The group told –
“ESA is currently in conversation with ESA members and other stakeholders about E3 2024 (and beyond),”
“No final decisions about the events have been made at this time.”
What this means for E3 is unknown. The Electronic Software Association did organize a digital-only event in 2021, despite not hosting a live trade since the COVID-19 pandemic forced the cancellation of E3 2020. In 2022, neither the physical nor digital versions of the program returned.
Do you know when Tales of Tanorio will be released? Talesoft is developing Tales of Tanorio, an upcoming Roblox-based MMO for capturing creatures:
When the event was canceled for a second time in 2023, ESA President and CEO Stanley Pierre-Louis told that the trade show may require modifications to survive.
Pierre-Louis said –
“E3 will iterate to ensure it’s meeting the needs of companies that want to market on this global platform.”
“That means it will iterate in how people engage with E3. We want to meet the needs of players who view this as an important platform and that’s going to evolve over time.”
