Diablo 4 received its first significant update since its release earlier this month. As previously detailed by Blizzard in the developer live stream, update 1.0.3, which is now available on all platforms, intends to deliver quality-of-life enhancements, bug fixes, and balance adjustments/buffs for the five playable classes.
However, below are a few of the highlights. So let’s jump straight in!
Enhanced Experience Benefits
The Nightmare Dungeon XP update is one of the most welcomed additions to this release. As promised in the live stream, Blizzard has “significantly increased” both the experience awarded for completing Nightmare Dungeons and the experience obtained from killing Nightmare Dungeon monsters.
In addition, Helltide containers now grant “substantially more” bonus experience upon opening. Additionally, the upgrade increases the experience gained from completing individual Whispers.
The rate at which players acquire experience has been one of the most contentious aspects of Diablo 4 since its release. Complaints have been made that XP grinding is tiresome. By enhancing the experience rewards for some of these activities, it encourages players to undertake these more difficult obstacles.
Better Loot Quality
Blizzard has previously mentioned intentions to increase the density of end-game monsters and elites. While it did not make it into this update, these modifications will be implemented early in Season 1. The bosses of Helltide Roaming should now consistently deliver items of high quality.
In addition, weekly bonus caches from world bosses no longer require a minimum level to access. As a small quality-of-life enhancement, players can now teleport directly to their Nightmare Dungeon via the map.
Do you know that, due to the DLC’s place in the game’s overall lifetime, the circumstances surrounding the release of Destiny 2: The Final Shape are unusually high? The Final Shape, according to Bungie’s statements, will conclude the Light and Dark saga and herald in a new story arc for the Destiny franchise:
Class Balance and Buffs
Blizzard intends for all Class setups to be viable. It is essential that they are not only powerful but also enjoyable to perform. While there will always be tiers that evaluate the various builds, all of them should be at least somewhat viable.
In this update, Blizzard concentrated on the feedback that “Basic Skills aren’t impactful enough in combat.” These changes will not alter the fundamental relationship between Basic Skills and Core Skills, but we anticipate they will improve the leveling process while we investigate additional ways to strengthen them.
In addition, we are enhancing the potency of certain Skills that players believe lag behind their peers. Consequently, each class in Diablo 4 received a fairly significant increase across the board. Some more than others, but each class should, at least early in the game, feel generally superior.
