Despite what may have been implied by the teaser, the PS4 will not be getting the impending Dead Space remake. A Dead Space PS4 version, in addition to the PS5 release, was hinted at in a PlayStation promo for the next survival horror. But it seems like that’s not the case at all.
It was a mistake, according to Eurogamer, for a PlayStation promo to imply that the upcoming Dead Space remake from EA Motive would be available for both the PS4 and PS5.
Debuting on PlayStation Latin America’s YouTube account, the teaser incorrectly claimed that the Dead Space remake would be available on both PS4 and PS5. Naturally, fans were quick to react, with some even rushing to Reddit to speculate on the news’s meaning, with one user speculating that the game would be coming to Xbox One.
Dead Space will be released for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on January 27, 2023, as a next-gen remake. The game’s developer, EA Motive, recently revealed footage of the necromorphs’ return and the game’s new fighting systems. It appears that the remake has been put together with a lot of love for the original game, and that’s because EA Motive talked with a group of Dead Space aficionados called the community council.
First and foremost, as senior producer Philippe Ducharme put it, we respect history. The original game is viewed with the highest regard. To that end, the fundamentals won’t change. But we are making a number of changes to the game to make it more appealing to new and veteran players alike.
