Cyberpunk 2077 is in a much better place now than when it first came out in December 2020. This is because of a long road of game-fixing patches, huge updates, and a hit anime series that ties into the game.
Even though work has started on a sequel, there is still a very good reason to visit Night City in the near future because it will be getting bigger.
Since it was first released, not much has been said about the Phantom Liberty expansion, but developer CD Projekt Red has let slip a few interesting bits of information before it comes out. What little information we have thus far is detailed here.
Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty Release Date
Phantom Liberty is scheduled for release in 2023, but further details are undisclosed. Since CDPR says its marketing effort will start in June, it’s likely that the reveal date will be set soon.

This places the announcement squarely outside of the E3 season, with Summer Games Fest as a potential venue for a release date announcement. CDPR could also share a new episode of its Night City live stream, which is where the company has made big Cyberpunk 2077 announcements in the past.
Phantom Liberty will only be available on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PS5. In September 2022, CDPR confirmed that the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles from the previous generation were no longer supported.
The studio is now focused on current-gen systems as it changes several Cyberpunk 2077 gameplay elements for Phantom Liberty.
