COD MW2: In the Taraq map of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, one player encountered some unexplained paranormal activity and recorded it for the benefit of other players.
While the popular Call of Duty Zombies modes has become a series staple, the inclusion of this creepy creature in the base game comes as a frightening surprise to fans of Infinity Ward’s hit franchise.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, developed by Infinity Ward and set for release in October 2022, is the sequel to the original Modern Warfare games.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 was well-received by fans and critics alike thanks to its world-spanning campaign mode, which features the return of fan-favorite characters like Lt. Simon “Ghost” Riley, and its new additions to the series’ proven and polished multiplayer modes.
Several patches have been released for Infinity Ward’s shooter since its initial release to fix various, sometimes-game-breaking bugs, and recent rumors have suggested that additional patches will bring back some fan-favorite game modes from Modern Warfare 2.
A user named Neon Moons recently posted a video to the r/ModernWarfareII subreddit showing a spooky encounter they had in the Taraq level of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
Forewarned viewers will notice that Neon Moons is walking towards a crumbling structure on the Taraq map when they notice what appear to be hands hanging down over a doorway.
The ghostly form slides further down the doorway as they enter, revealing what appears to be a burned body drooping from the ceiling above. When the camera is turned around, it shows a destroyed roof where the figure had been only seconds before.
Some viewers of the disturbing clip were unnerved enough to speculate on the possible causes of the unusual encounter. One commenter tried to provide some sense of comfort by suggesting that Neon Moons had simply turned around and seen the ragdoll of a recently killed player.

Some Redditors speculated that the eerie visual represented an undiscovered Easter egg in Modern Warfare 2, albeit one with a decidedly supernatural theme.
Many players of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 are already familiar with the need to be on the lookout for unseen threats, such as UAV attacks, but it seems that they may have to add ghostly encounters to that list.

Fans looking for a scare, however, may find this eerie ghost to be just the thing to tide them over until the rumored release of Modern Warfare 2’s Zombies mode.
