Yes, you heard it right Ashneer Grover who nowadays remains in the limelight for his podcasts and interviews, but is mainly popular for Shark Tank India and BharatPe, was stopped by the officials at the IGI Airport on Thursday, November 16, 2023, i.e. yesterday, when he was with wife Madhuri Jain. People aware of the matter said, “Ashneer and his wife were going on a vacation to New York and were stopped by the Economic Offences Wing of Delhi police,” The officials said that a lookout circular which is also known as LoC was sent to Ashneer Grover earlier this week, issued by the EOW amid ongoing probe against the two for alleged fraud at BharatPe.

The Joint Commissioner of Police, Sindhu Pillai added that Ashneer Grover and his wife were stopped at the Delhi airport on Thursday evening when the couple was traveling to New York. Pillai said, “They were detained before security check and asked to return to their Delhi residence and join the probe at the EOW office at Mandir Marg next week,” The joint commissioner went on to add that LoC was only to detain him from traveling abroad but they have not been arrested yet. Yes, you heard it right, Ashneer Grover and Madhuri Jain have not been arrested. They were only stopped from going abroad.

Speculations have come to rest with the official statement of the Joint Commissioner of Police (EOW). Reacting to this incident, BhartPe former managing director Ashneer Grover took to X and wrote that he hadn’t received any notices or calls from EOW since the FIR was filed in May until 8 am on 17 November 2023, i.e. today, which was seven hours after he got back from the airport. Ashneer wrote that he was informed of a LoC issued by EOW during immigration, which he found odd since he’d traveled internationally four times since May without issue and hadn’t been summoned.
