The Chicago Cubs have so far been incredibly disappointing. Rumor had it that they wanted to make a big deal, and names like Chris Bryant and Wilson Contreras were at the forefront of these discussions. Unfortunately for beginners, nothing came true, and they were still stuck in the wilderness, not having the money to work.
Nicholas Castellanos is one free agent, who, according to rumors, the newcomers hope to stay in the offseason. They were not mentioned in many rumors, but apparently still have not given up this hope.
According to a report by John Morosi of the MLB Network, the cubs are still “in the mix” when it comes to Castellanos. He did say that the Texas rangers are currently leaders signing Castellanos as they hope to land a big bat in the offseason.

Just rumors that the newcomers are still trying to get Castellanos back will give fans in Chicago some hope. Theo Epstein spent all the money that the franchise could offer, and he probably could not afford to retain most of the team’s talent. Trading a name such as Bryant or Contreras would be the only way to make room for moves.
Last season, in 52 novice games after they were sold from the Detroit Tigers ahead of the trade deadline, Castellanos ended up making 0.31 average batting to go along with 16 home runs and 36 RBIs. He helped rejuvenate rookies in a short period of time.
At 27, Castellanos is entering the prime of his career. The young would be reasonable to keep him close if they can do it financially.
All of this, as they say, will be interesting to see where the talented outfielder finishes signing. Chicago is still hoping to get it back, but time will tell.
