A direct successor to the 2019 Call of Duty: Modern Warfare reboot, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is a forthcoming first-person shooter game.
Despite having the same name as the 2009 video game Modern Warfare 2, it will not have the same plot because this is a reboot and not a remaster or remake.
The upcoming Modern Warfare 2 will be set in 2022 and will center on Task Force 141, a counterterrorism organization. There will be a single-player campaign as well as online multiplayer; Infinity Ward has confirmed new game modes for the latter.
Below, we've compiled all of the recent information and rumors regarding Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. We'll keep you updated as new information becomes available.

Trailer
In June 2022, Activision released a video called the “World Gameplay Reveal Trailer.” Below is a link to it:
Story
Captain John Price and John “Soap” MacTavish are among the well-known characters in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, which has a completely different plot from the first game of the same name in 2009.
Three years after Price establishes Task Force 141 as a counterterrorism organization, the story takes place in 2022. The team will be entrusted with fighting the drug cartel Las Alamos and the terrorist group Al-Qatala as well as calming down the situation after a US missile strike.
The locations of the story missions will be all over the world, including Europe, Asia, and the United States. In order to change up the gameplay, it has also been announced that there will be both stealth missions and “all-out explosive assaults” on enemy strongholds.
We don't currently know much more, but we're confident that Infinity Ward will reveal more details closer to its debut.
Multiplayer
Online multiplayer will be available in Modern Warfare 2 along with a few new game styles.
You cannot charge into battle heedlessly in Knockout because there will be 6v6 bouts without respawns. Teams will contend for the possession of a package, with the team holding it at the conclusion of a game being crowned the victor.
Another brand-new multiplayer game is called Prisoner Rescue, in which each side is given either the attacking or the defensive role. The latter is entrusted with removing hostages from a structure, and the defenders are tasked with stopping them.
A revised Gunsmith will also be included in the future shooter to allow for more customization possibilities.
