Bungie announced on its BungieHelp Twitter account that the game would be taken offline for urgent maintenance. The crew would investigate the errors during this time. In addition, they stated that they would keep users informed as they continued to work on the update.
The post stated –
“Destiny 2 is being brought offline for emergency maintenance as we investigate an increase in various errors codes and server stability. Another update will be provided within 1 hour.”
Eventually, the developers found a solution and brought the servers back online. The developers did reveal that they would continue working on the error codes.
