Bloodlines 2: Fredrik Wester, CEO of Paradox Interactive, has provided a brief development update for Vampire: the Masquerade – Bloodlines 2, suggesting that the game may be released in 2023. Even so, many questions about the game have yet to be clarified.
Paradox Interactive announced the sequel to Troika Games’ cult classic Vampire: the Masquerade – Bloodlines several years ago. But since then, it’s been a rough ride, with a significant portion of the game’s original development team leaving and the project is handed off to someone else.
Paradox has assured fans multiple times that they are still working on the game, and it appears that this is still the case. Paradox Interactive CEO Wester told Privata Affärer that development is proceeding well on the game.
Still, the company is wary of making any announcements too far in advance after what happened with the game after its initial reveal. Despite this, Wester has stated that Bloodlines 2’s release date will be announced “reasonably soon” and that a release in 2023 is not out of the question.
However, there is currently no definite timeframe, so fans may want to hold off on their joy for the time being. We shall see if Bloodlines 2 is worthy of celebration by those who enjoyed the first and long-running tabletop games.

Since the game was transferred to a different developer after its initial reveal and only a tiny amount of footage was made public, it is impossible to say whether or not the previously shown visuals will represent the final product. Most surprising is that Paradox hasn’t said who is making the game.
The first Bloodlines game came out in 2004, so it’s safe to assume that players will wait longer for the next installment. Even though players would prefer a release date closer to the present, it is not out of the question to release the game in 2024 to coincide with the 20th anniversary of the original.
Yet many players are skeptical that the game can live up to the standards set by the original, beloved vampire RPG. There has been a recent surge of video game adaptations set in the World of Darkness.

Still, with games ranging in quality and fan and critical reception, it is unclear whether Bloodlines 2 will improve upon or detract from the franchise’s success. A new installment of Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines is currently in production.
