Bihar Train Accident

Several trains have been cancelled and diverted following over 12 coaches of the 12506 Delhi-Kamakhya North East Express derailed in Bihar’s Buxar district near the Raghunathpur station on Wednesday night. This accident cost at least 6 lives and nearly 100 injured. SP Pramod Kumar of Bhojpur confirmed six passengers died in this crash. Sources said that around 100 people sustained injuries in the train mishap as over 12 coaches derailed. Reportedly, hospitals including PMCH, AIIMS, and IGIMS at Buxar, Ara, and the capital city Patna have been asked to prepare for the emergency.

Talking about the train accident, it happened at around 9:35 pm near the Raghunathpur station that lies in the Danapur division. Initially, no causality was found by the authorities but later the officials confirmed that 6 people died in this crash. Reportedly, the North East Express left Anand Vihar Terminal in Delhi in the morning at 7:45 am and it was on its way to reach Kamakhya Junction of Guwahati in Assam. As a result of a major crash in Buxar, the East Central Railway announced the cancellation of some trains and some were diverted.

The East Central Railway zone issued a statement to convey that trains that have been cancelled are Sasaram-Ara Special (03620), Patna-Puri Special (03230), Bhabua Road Express Special (03617), Patna-Buxar Memu Pass Special (03375), and Patna–DDU Memu Pass Spl (03203). Reportedly, two trains also have been partially cancelled and they are DDU-Patna Express (13210) which will travel up to Ara and Patna-DDU Express (13209) which will go also to Ara. The diverted trains include Patliputra SF Express (12141), Pune-Danapur SF Express (12149), Dibrugarh Rajdhani Express (12424), Kamakhya Express (15623), Vikramshila Express (12368), Guwahati Express (15633), Bhagalpur Garib Rath Express (22406), Rajendra Nagar Terminal Tejas Rajdhani Express (12310), Anvt Rdp Express (22488), and more.
