Avengers: Secret Wars release date confirmed

Kevin Feige, the head of Marvel Studios, said at San Diego Comic-Con 2022 that Avengers: Secret Wars will be released in theatres on Friday, November 7, 2025.

The movie will be released barely six months after Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, which will open the summer movie season in 2025 on Friday, May 2, at the current release date.

Who could be in the cast for Avengers: Secret Wars?

The cast of Avengers: Secret Wars and its predecessor The Kang Dynasty has not yet been revealed by Marvel Studios, although a few characters look like they would be fairly certain bets.

For example, it’s likely that Jonathan Majors will play the time-traveling antagonist Kang The Conquerer in both movies, providing he isn’t eliminated at the conclusion of the first one.

Meanwhile, we anticipate seeing all of the main Avengers characters, including Captain America (Anthony Mackie), Captain Marvel (Brie Larson), Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), and Thor, appear in some form (Chris Hemsworth).

It’s also possible that these films will be the first time that Marvel’s recently introduced Disney Plus characters, such as Moon Knight (Oscar Isaac) and She-Hulk (Tatiana Maslany), will appear on the big screen.

The idea of more appearances from prior Marvel franchises, such as Fox’s X-Men and Sony’s Spider-Man, cannot be completely ruled out given that this movie will serve as the conclusion to what is being referred to as The Multiverse Saga.

What could happen in Avengers: Secret Wars?

Despite sharing the same name, there have been two significant Secret Wars comic book arcs that are substantially distinct from one another.

The first Secret Wars, which began in 1984, saw the Beyonder, a cosmic being, bringing the most well-known Marvel Universe heroes and villains to Battleworld and compelling them to fight for his amusement.

The comic event, albeit economically successful, was criticized at the time for having a thin plot that looked to be intended to sell toys, but many fans who were growing up at the time still love it now.

The standard Marvel Universe’s Earth-616 and the Ultimate Marvel Universe, where Miles Morales was born, collided in a catastrophic incursion in a modern adaptation of Secret Wars that debuted in 2015 to considerably more positive critical acclaim.

In an effort to stop the total catastrophe, Doctor Doom uses the power of the Beyonders to construct a new Battleworld that combines all of the other realities found in the Marvel Universe. He appoints himself Emperor, as is only natural.

The Marvel Universe’s heroes and villains have no recollection of their existence before Doom’s new order, which accounts for the fact that most of them don’t question the peculiar new reality they are in.

In addition to incorporating its own unique flourishes, Avengers: Secret Wars is likely to incorporate details from both stories.

Is there an Avengers: Secret Wars trailer?

Not yet! Due to the movie’s late 2025 release date, Marvel has just revealed the logo for it; a trailer is most likely still in the works.
