A rumored leak of the iPhone 14 battery specs says that the four rumored upcoming models have some small upgrades and one surprising downgrade.
Two Twitter leakers, DuanRui(opens in new tab) and ShrimpApplePro(opens in new tab) shared a screenshot from Weibo that showed the battery sizes of the four new iPhones. But both leaders are skeptical about the numbers, so don’t be surprised if a future leak gives us different numbers.
We’ve put the numbers from this source in the table below, along with the storage sizes of the same iPhone 13 models, so we can compare the changes that are said to have happened.

With these supposed new capabilities, the iPhone 14 is 1 percent better than the iPhone 13, the iPhone 14 Pro is 3 percent better than the iPhone 13 Pro, and the iPhone 14 Pro Max is 1 percent worse than the iPhone 13 Pro Max. The rumored replacement for the iPhone 13 mini is the iPhone 14 Max, but their sizes are so different (6.7 inches vs. 5.4 inches) that it’s hard to compare them.
Based on these specs, the iPhone 14 has a slightly bigger battery than the iPhone 14 Pro, even though both phones should have the same 6.1-inch size. This was also true of the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro. This may be because the Pro model’s camera block is more significant and has an extra telephoto camera.

It looks like the new iPhone 14 Max will have the biggest battery, but only by a small amount compared to the iPhone 14 Pro Max. Because of this, this model might have the best battery life of any of the iPhone 14 models, but the iPhone 14 Pro Max might still be the winner because of how the ProMotion adaptive display refresh rate saves battery life.
In terms of Pro Max models, the iPhone 13 Pro Max has a 4,352 mAh battery, so if this rumor is true, the 14 Pro Max would have a 29 mAh smaller battery. It’s strange that Apple is lowering its capacity in this way, but that shouldn’t be enough to stop it from being one of the best phones for battery life. A more efficient A16 chipset (which the non-Pro models may not get) and the adaptive refresh rate could help the iPhone 14 Pro Max last a long time.
