Apple iPhone 15 Will Support Wi-Fi 6E With Faster Speed and Lower Latency Ahead!

According to a research note published by Barclays analysts Blayne Curtis and Tom O’Malley, the iPhone 15 will feature Wi-Fi 6E. The analysts did not make clear which models will have access to the feature—all models or only the Pro models.

Many of Apple’s gadgets, including the most recent 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro, 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro, and Mac mini models, now support Wi-Fi 6E. However, all iPhone 14 models are only compatible with regular Wi-Fi 6.

The 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands used by Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 6E provide faster wireless speeds, lower latency, and less signal interference. Wi-Fi 6E also uses the 6GHz frequency. The device needs to be connected to a Wi-Fi 6E router, offered by companies like TP-Link, Asus, and Netgear, to benefit from these advantages.

The iPhone 15 is more likely to support Wi-Fi 6E than the iPhone 13 and iPhone 14 models, which were also said to keep the standard but never did. Apple has started introducing Wi-Fi 6E support to its most recent products.

The iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max are anticipated to be unveiled by Apple in September as usual. The Dynamic Island and a USB-C connector are believed to be included in all four variants, according to rumors.

In contrast, the Pro models are rumored to add Apple’s newest A17 Bionic chip, a titanium frame, solid-state volume, power buttons, and other features. A supporting paper from Apple has more information on Wi-Fi 6E.

iPhone 15 Models to Adopt Wi-fi 6E

According to Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the future iPhone 15 models, which are scheduled to be released later in 2023, will support the Wi-Fi 6E standard. Kuo said that Apple will upgrade the iPhone 15 to Wi-Fi 6E in a note about the company’s work on a Wi-Fi chip.

The 11 and 12.9-inch iPad Pro versions, as well as the new Mac mini and 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pro models, are already utilising Wi-Fi 6E. Although Apple did not adopt Wi-Fi 6E for the iPhone 14 series, it is prepared to do so with the 2023 upgrade.

In addition to Kuo, Barclays analysts Blayne Curtis and Tom O’Malley have also stated that the Wi-Fi 6E upgrade will be available for the iPhone 15 models. There are currently no speculations that corroborate whether Wi-Fi 6E will be available on all iPhone 15 models or only on the more expensive iPhone 15 Pro versions.

Wi-Fi 6E devices can connect to the 6GHz band using compatible routers and cable modems, offering quicker speed, reduced latency, and less interference than you might experience on the normal 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands. The previous Wi-Fi 6 standard is still only compatible with 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks, making Wi-Fi 6E the first Wi-Fi standard to support 6GHz connectivity.

A Wi-Fi 6E router is necessary in order to fully benefit from the increasing use of Wi-Fi 6E. Hardware for Wi-Fi 6E is already available from a number of manufacturers, including Linksys, Asus, and Netgear.
