The show became must-be viewing for all SATC fans since it follows three of the four main characters as they deal with life in the year 2021. (though if it was a delightful catch-up with old friends or a hate-watch depends on who you ask).

You haven’t met anybody in their 50s who didn’t think they were wild in their 30s. The amount of explicit se*ual content may have been reduced, but it didn’t stop the eighth episode’s double-penis twist from causing a commotion.

Samantha was “locked in London,” missing out on all the “fun,” yet in her absence, the girls dealt with a tragic loss, shifted relationships, tested their sexual boundaries, and made new acquaintances.

Therefore, we pondered, what lies ahead for our New York girlfriends? What’s up next for Carrie and the gang?

The green light for season two was given in March of 2022. Sarah Jessica Parker announced the spin-off of S*x and the City on her Instagram and acknowledged her dedicated following.

Along with a picture of the ensemble, she penned: “The second year. To those watching, we appreciate you. Just the facts. If something were to happen to either of us, you would feel it first. We adore you.”

With Sarah having told Variety in February that talks had already begun, this outcome shouldn’t come as much of a surprise. “Without a doubt, yes. It’s been two weeks since Michael [Patrick King, the creator] and I talked and asked, “OK, when will we talk about this?”

Having Samantha around is remarkable because of her magical mind. In all likelihood, Kim Cattrall will never appear on screen again.

Kim told Variety in March that she had no plans to return to the show since she didn’t like where they were taking her character. Finally, she said, “I’ve realized that perhaps the greatest praise I could receive as an actor is to be missed.”

So, he added, “I believe there was some champagne” (via Variety). There must have been some severe back-and-forth and love between them to let them realize there’s more to life than being frightened to mend their wounds. There’s no doubt they had a wonderful time.

Based on my observations, they had a wonderful evening and were able to put their differences to rest. Carrie’s current love came back into her life after she let go of a long-ago romance. Speaking of familiar faces, Deadline reports that John Corbett will reprise his role as Aidan.

And with that, Julie Rottenberg, the show’s creator and writer revealed why Aidan Shaw wasn’t featured in the pilot (via TVLine). That was just one of those rumors that started floating around, she explained, and HBO never officially confirmed anything.

Continuing to accompany Miranda on her journey of self-discovery, Che was confirmed for a second season in June 2022. Michael Patrick King told Variety, “One of my burning emotions about season 2 is Che.”

“I want to show the side of Che that people didn’t see because they were blinded, out of fear or dread, or for whatever other reason. I think it would be better to show more of Che than less. And I mean that in the most literal sense.

They enjoy that Che is “complex and messy and human,” Ramirez added, speaking of their personality. “Che is a great reminder that even when we don’t like someone in our community, they still deserve love, safety, and joy like everyone else,” they continued.

Everyone, including those we don’t particularly care about, is part of the liberation movement. Everyone is welcome to join in on this revolution, this battle, this celebration of pride, not only those that make us feel warm and fuzzy inside.
