According to the Champaign County Coroner’s Office, Akul Dhawan was discovered dead on Saturday night, January 20, 2024. Coroner Steve Thuney confirmed that no foul play has been detected in the demise of Akul Dhawan. He was 18 years of age at the time of his death. On Saturday, at around 1:23 AM, Akul Dhawan’s roommate reported him missing to the authorities and said he had not seen him for more than an hour. Also, Akul’s phone was not reachable, adding a layer of fear about his well-being. After the missing complaint was filed for Akul Dhawan, police checked all the nearby hospitals and tried to call him. He remained missing until Saturday morning around 11:08 AM.

A UI worker reportedly found Akul Dhawan on a building’s rear porch. The UI worker said Akul had already passed away when he spotted him on the rear porch of a building.
